NHR 9410-4 Regenerative Grid Simulator
The NHR 9410-4 Regenerative Grid Simulator is a bi-directional, four-quadrant AC/DC source made for flexible grid testing and simulation. With its integrated waveform-digitizing measurement technology and adjustable phase outputs, this device is perfect for testing grid-tied goods like PV inverters. By using regenerative mode, it effectively restores power to the facility mains while dissipating less heat. This unit has power ratings of up to 4 kW for single-phase and 10.5 kVA for three-phase, and it can support single, split, or three-phase AC and DC output.
Despite reactive loads or harmonic currents, the 9410-4 maintains full real power across a wide voltage range due to its extensive reactive power capabilities, which include a VA-rating 2.6 times its true power rating. This makes it ideal for grid-tied compliance testing since it enables it to evaluate a wider variety of items. Its capacity to simulate power outages using programmable macros and configurable waveforms is one of its main advantages. The 9410-4 can be controlled using a PC-based soft-panel for more complex test configurations, an integrated touch-panel interface for rapid manual testing, or custom programming with industry-standard drivers like SCPI, LabVIEW VIs, and IVI for Windows.
Several levels of protection are in place to ensure the safety of users, the apparatus, and the unit itself. In addition to hardware-based and programmable tests, the system has quick isolation capabilities that can quickly disconnect the grid or unit being tested if necessary. Immediate shutdown is also possible with the help of an emergency stop (eStop) feature.
